One of my favorite places back home in Massachusetts is a little place called the Black Sheep Tavern (I know, I'm reviewing the Rusty Buffalo, bear with me). Great pizza, good wings, fun atmosphere--you know the kind of place I'm talking about, and if you don't and you're near the Rusty Buffalo, go on in and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, I was traveling with my family through the Buffalo area and we figured since we're here, we really ought to have wings for dinner, right? After reading a ton of Yelp reviews, we settled on the Rusty Buffalo. I reached out on Facebook (they were closed at that time) to ask how much lead time they needed for an order of wings, and they got right back to me. 30 minutes, so plan ahead! I phoned in the order so that it would be ready for us to pick up as soon as we got into town--they were really nice on the phone and even called me back when we got disconnected. I ordered four chicken finger dinners and 40 wings--I was about to order extra fries, but the lady on the phone stopped me and told me the dinners each came with easily enough fries for two people. Not many places will undersell a customer like that, and I really appreciated it, since traveling long distance with leftovers can be a pain. I walked in to pick up the order, and it was like I was back home again. Great atmosphere, friendly people, good music, and the food smelled amazing. We got it back to our hotel, checked in, unloaded, and sat down to eat. Everything was still piping hot. I strongly recommend the Honey Sriracha--it's addictive. It was my first time trying Chiavetta's sauce, too, and it was also excellent. Their house Buffalo sauce was some of the best I've had anywhere. However, the Cajun dry rub was everyone's favorite, hands down. Their wings were all crispy and delicious, even the ones that had been sauced heavily. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again anytime I'm passing through.

Can't say enough about this little plaza bar. I've lived down street for the last 7 years. Already tons of fun memories here. It is my default bar, strong first choice for wings, even had a bday party here. It may be a typical run of the mill neighborhood sports bar, but it has good space, comfortable layout, TVs everywhere, reasonable drink prices, decent selection, seemingly well kept, and always pretty good service. The real secret ace-in-the-hole here? The food. Everything that comes out of that kitchen is f***ing dynamite. It's a super small menu of mostly just bar food, but just wow. Such quality. It really makes me not want to eat any other bar food. I think their wings easily deserve a "Top 5" spot for Buffalo-area wings. Says right on the menu, please allow at least 30 mins for wings so we can cook them properly. It's the only place where I don't have to say extra crispy, thank you for that. I've probably ate here 50 times now and never once had a bad food experience, always perfect. I'll never stop, can't stop!

Fair drink prices, good food and great wait staff. If you are looking for a place to hunker down for a game or UFC fight I'd recommend this place. They have TV's EVERYWHERE! They have food specials daily and gotta say the wings are pretty good. We got hot and Cajun and were pleased.

Haven't been in but got takeout tonight and it was pretty tasty. We've seen this place every time we pick up Chinese takeout and it always looks to be hopping. We're not bar types but love bar type food. I ordered the grilled bbq chicken sandwich with Gouda, bacon, onion petals, tomato and lettuce. It was really tasty. I've always wanted to find a grilled chicken sandwich that was actually good and craveable. Cheese bacon bbq and fried onions can do a lot for a naked chicken breast yo. The bun was grilled. The chicken had a nice grilled flavor with a tasty bbq hint and was not dry. The sandwich came with tator tots that were actually seasoned and crispy. Win. They did a great job packing for takeout too. The tomato and lettuce were separate from the cheesy bacon chicken side and nothing was soggy when I assembled this monster sandwich. The boyfriend had beef on weck. The beef came in a separate container so his sandwich wasn't soggy either. He said, "Schwabls it ain't. But it's good." He also had wings and enjoyed them as well.

We came here to watch some college hoops. We arrived in time for a BOGO on wings...win. They switched the tv near us to watch the game...win. I had 20 wings....hot and medium. I guess the adage is true, if you can't make wings in Buffalo, N.Y. you won't make it in Buffalo. These were very good wings. Are they the best I've had in Buffalo? No. But they are better than the ones I get at home. The guys are with also got the wings...no complaints. Our serve was great ... attentive but not hovering. Pretty decent crowd. Yes try this place out. They also serve burgers and from what I've seen going to other tables not to shabby. Enjoy your time in buffalo and try this place out.
